These are two traditional tunes Jason picked up during extended stays in Dublin and County Clare, Ireland, back in the 1990s, now much corrupted with the passage of time and taste. Versions of both tunes were collected in a 19th century Irish man­uscript by James Goodman (b. 1828) from the blind piper Tom Kennedy, both of whom learned their music growing up in the Dingle Peninsula area of County Kerry, Ireland. The second tune is originally called "Foxhunter's Jig," but a small titular modification seemed within bounds along with the changed time signature and con­text. As everyone knows, the jug is an essential part of any good foxhunt.
